After the closure of the orphanages in
Romania, some of the children with special
needs were moved into small family style
children’s homes. Although these places are
a vast improvement on the previous
institutions they still have considerable
short comings in their ability to provide
the quality of child care that you would
expect in the UK.
We are working with several family style
homes and also with a larger institution for
young people affected with special needs to
try to improve the level of care provided.
We send Romanian and UK volunteers into the
homes, we provide much needed equipment and
offer specialist training support. |
