With the support of the “English for Kids
Foundation” we provide free English Language
training in Romania to young people and our
volunteers.
Learning English in it’s self is a useful
skill for the children and young people to
have, but we use our free English lessons to
open up our centre in Slatina to the local
community. And, once we have the young
people’s attention we then try to encourage
them to get involved in our volunteering
activities, to work with us on projects
which aim to breakdown the barriers of
discrimination between the Romanian and the
Roma population. We use free English
language teaching as a tool to work with the
local community but for the children that
decide to come and learn with us are able to
study towards the internationally recognised
Anglia English Examinations.
Our centre in Romania is equipped with a
wide range of English language resources
including several lap tops for the children
to also practice and develop their IT
skills. |
